The Congress party on Friday claimed that mics of Opposition leaders who attempted to discuss alleged NEET paper leaks were being turned off in the Lok Sabha.

"A conspiracy is being hatched to suppress the voice of the youth by doing cheap acts like switching off the mic," the grand old party wrote in a social media post on Friday. Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi mounted on the allegation and released a separate video.

"We are committed to having that discussion peacefully in a very accommodating manner. I tried to raise it in Parliament, but I wasn’t allowed to speak," the Raebareli MP said.

"This is an issue that has affected two crore students seventy times in seven years. Papers have been leaked, and it's clear that there is a systemic problem and a huge amount of corruption," he added.

Gandhi also urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to speak on the row, which he said was a "serious concern that is causing anxiety to lakhs of families across India."
