Delhi Elections: Kejriwal accuses Congress and BJP of secret alliance

Arvind Kejriwal accuses Congress and BJP of a secret alliance, while Rahul Gandhi critiques both Kejriwal and Modi. Delhi Assembly elections are scheduled for February.

Delhi Elections: Kejriwal accuses Congress and BJP of secret alliance

Arvind Kejriwal, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader, has made a provocative claim ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections, suggesting that the upcoming polls will expose the hidden alliance between Congress and BJP, which he referred to as a "jugalbandi."

This statement came after BJP leader Amit Malviya responded to Kejriwal’s comments on Rahul Gandhi.

Kejriwal took to X, saying, “I said just one line about Rahul Gandhi and the reply is coming from the BJP. Look how much trouble the BJP is facing. Perhaps this Delhi election will expose the 'Jugalbandi' going on behind the scenes between Congress and BJP for years.”

Kejriwal had previously criticized Rahul Gandhi, emphasizing that while Gandhi's focus was on saving his own party, his battle was about "saving the country." He added, “Today Rahul Gandhi came to Delhi. He abused me a lot. But I will not comment on his statements. His fight is to save Congress, my fight is to save the country.”

BJP leader Amit Malviya swiftly reacted, suggesting that Kejriwal should focus on "saving your New Delhi seat for now" rather than discussing larger issues.

In a separate address at Seelampur, Delhi, Rahul Gandhi criticized both the BJP and AAP. He questioned the actions taken by Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Kejriwal to tackle inflation and support the poor. “Is inflation increasing or decreasing? What did Kejriwal and PM Modi say on inflation? They promised to reduce it. Has it been reduced? The poor are getting poorer, and the rich are getting richer,” Gandhi remarked.

He also pointed out the disparity in wealth, stating, “There are 100 to 150 billionaires controlling the country. They receive all the privileges. Have you ever seen PM Modi speak about Adani and Ambani? Has Kejriwal ever said anything about Adani?”

The Delhi Assembly elections are scheduled for February 5, with the vote count taking place on February 8. The deadline for filing nominations is January 17, followed by scrutiny on January 18, and the last date to withdraw candidacies is January 20.
