'Names of those trapped in anti-corruption ops cannot...': Rajasthan ACB order sparks BJP, Congress war

An order passed by the Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on 4 January 2023 has sparked a political war of words in the state.

The order reportedly says that names and photographs of corrupt officials "trapped" through decoy operations cannot be made public till they have been convicted by a court of law. However, their department and designation would be revealed by the ACB.

The Opposition BJP accused the Congress government of shielding the corrupt. Rajendra Rathore, the deputy Leader of Opposition in the state Assembly made the allegation against the Ashok Gehlot government.

BJP's state unit chief Satish Poonia tweeted, "Congress for the corrupt, the corrupt for Congress." The ruling party did not immediately respond, as per reports.
