BJP on Tuesday suspended its MLA Raja Singh from the party following row over his alleged derogatory remarks on Prophet Muhammad.

BJP’s action against its lawmaker might be a way to pacify the unrest caused by the controversy, but this is not the first time that the 45-year-old legislator has made a vile comment against a particular faith. Let’s take a look at Raja Singh most controversial statements till date

Threats to set theatres on fire

Raja Singh started a protest against Bollywood film Padmavat in 2017. Singh threatened to burn down screens that showed the movie. He even wrote to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao asking for a ban on the film.

Asks Hindus in Bengal to respond like ‘2002 Gujarat’

The same year, T Raja Singh was at the eye of another storm. Raja issued a statement about the communal clashes in Baduria and Basirhat. In a video message, Singh had urged Hindus in Bengal to respond like the Hindus of Gujarat 2022.

The Green Book’ remark

In 2018, the two-time legislator of BJP was booked for making controversial remarks on Quran and Iftar parties during a live streaming on Facebook. Singh called for a ban on Quran–which he called– ‘the green book’

The ‘mini Pakistan’ remark

In 2019, a suspended BJP leader commented on Hyderabad’s Old City area as “mini Pakistan”.

Singh also requested the CM to initiate a search operation in the area.

‘Kashmiri Muslims traitors’ remarks

In another video in May 2017 , Raja dubbed Kashmiri Muslims as traitors. He further called the stone pelters as terrorists and asked viewers of the video to take revenge on behalf of Indian soldiers
