Amid calls in many places to 'right historical wrongs' by changing the name or nature of old structures, a building in Andhra Pradesh is also facing anger.

The Jinnah Tower Centre in Guntur was targeted once again by the Bharatiya Janata Party on May 24. BJP leaders and workers tried to march to the tower to press for their demand that the structure be renamed after former President of India APJ Abdul Kalam.

However, the protestors were detained by police. BJP leader GVL Narasimha Rao criticised the police action, saying, "Wonder if we are in Andhra Pradesh or Pakistan."

Calls to rename Jinnah Tower have been growing in recent months, but the YSRCP government in the state led by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has not acquiesced.
