Tripura Election | 'BJP stopping voters from...': ex-CM and Left leader Manik Sarkar alleges cheating

Amid voting for the Assembly elections in Tripura, former Chief Minister and Left leader Manik Sarkar levelled cheating charges against the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party.

He said, "In some places, miscreants on behalf of BJP are causing trouble and stopping people from casting their votes fearlessly. But the people are trying their best to cast votes."

"At some places where voters are not allowed to vote, they are blocking roads and telling the Election Commission that if they are not allowed to cast votes they won’t let others cast their votes as well," Sarkar said.

"This is a positive sign and a determined effort," he added.

The Left leader said that the chief electoral officer is responding in a positive manner, but it is action on the ground which is important.
