Preparations underway at Sriharikota for ISRO’s Aditya-L1 mission launch

India gears up for its maiden solar mission launch scheduled for September 2 from Sriharikota at 11:50 AM. ISRO said Aditya L1 onboard the PSLV has already undergone launch rehearsal and internal vehicle checks.

The Indian space agency started its countdown to the launch over 23 hours before the scheduled launch.

The spacecraft is expected to complete its journey to the desired orbit in 125 days and provide remote observations of the sun.

It will be the first dedicated Indian space mission for observations of the Sun to be launched by the Bengaluru-headquartered space agency, news agency PTI reported.

The Sun observatory mission is all set to be launched from this spaceport at 11.50 AM on Saturday and comes close on the heels of India's successful moon expedition, Chandrayaan-3.
