      Salman seeks weapon license from Mumbai police after receiving death threat

      A month after Bollywood star Salman Khan and his father Salim Khan received death threats in a letter, the actor on Friday met Mumbai Commissioner of Police Vivek Pansalkar at his office in South Mumbai and reportedly sought a weapon license.

      The 56-year-old actor reportedly submitted a written application to Mumbai police to seek a weapon license for his protection.

      Last month, Salman Khan and his father Salim Khan had received a letter threatening that the father-son duo would meet the fate of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, who was killed in May. After the letter, Khan's security was enhanced after an FIR was filed at Bandra police station against an unknown person in the case. Further probe into the incident is underway.

      Around the same time, it was reported that Salman was on the radar of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who recently confessed to the police that he had sent death threats to the actor through an aide in connection with the blackbuck posching case. Bishnoi also told the polcie during interrogation that he and his community, which regards blackbuck sacred, would 'never forgive' Salman Khan.
