Two Pakistani terrorists killed in Srinagar firefight

Two Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorists from Pakistan were gunned down in an over night encounter in Jammu and Kashmir's summer capital Srinagar with police saying that the duo were planning to attack the Amarnath Yatra which begins on June 30.

The encounter broke out in Bemina locality of Srinagar, after security forces received a tip off about the presence of terrorists there. A policeman was also injured in the cross firing.

The Kashmir Zone Police chief Vijay Kumar in a tweet said that Pakistan-based handlers had sent two terrorists along with one local terrorist with the intention to attack Yatra.

Calling the operation a "big success", Kumar said the slain duo had escaped from an encounter in Sopore and their movements were being traced since then.
