The Bharatiya Janata Party has dropped union minister and former president Nitin Gadkari from the parliamentary board, it's highest decision making committee.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has also been removed from the board.

The BJP parliamentary board which has president JP Nadda, PM Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah saw the inclusion of veteran leader and former Karnataka chief minister BS Yediyurappa.

The 79-year-old Lingayat leader was dropped as Karnataka CM in 2021 but the inclusion hints at a bigger role for the BJP leader as the southern state goes to polls. According to the BJP convention, 75 years is the retirement age.

Defence Minister and former BJP chief Rajnath Singh was re-inducted into the parliamentary board. Former Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal, who stepped aside to make way for Himanta Sarma Biswa after BJP was re-elected in the state last year, has also been included.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has been named in the BJP's Central Election Committee.
