UP CM Yogi Adityanath highlights Youth Parliament’s role in leadership and governance

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath participated in the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament at the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly on Friday. Addressing the gathering, he shed light on the functioning of the legislature and the process through which laws are passed.

Highlighting the Youth Parliament initiative, CM Yogi emphasized that efforts began in 2019 to develop leadership qualities among young individuals. He noted that over 240 students from across the state have joined the event by participating in various competitions.

"Keeping in mind how to outline the future of youth, work has begun from 2019 to take forward this new resolution of Yuva Sansad with the objective of developing leadership qualities in every sphere of life. My Bharat Abhiyan, on which there was constant discussion for the last two years, and 240 such youth from across the state who have participated in various competitions are today participating in this program in the largest legislature of any state of the country," CM Yogi said.

Further, he highlighted the diversity of representation in the legislature, emphasizing how public representatives from different regions and backgrounds come forward to express their views.

"People's representatives from different backgrounds of the country or people's representatives elected from different areas of the state put forward their views here. The policies that are made here, the laws that are made and the policies that are discussed then go to the government and the executive works to implement them," he stated.

CM Yogi credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for inspiring the Youth Parliament initiative, stating that it aims to prepare young minds for the future of India. He explained that democracy functions through the legislature, executive, and judiciary, and these institutions complement each other.

He further elaborated on the importance of the Youth Parliament, stating that its purpose is not just to create political leaders but to instill a spirit of leadership in every field.

"The objective of the Yuva MP is to bring passion in you too, not only to become a leader but also to work as an inspiration in other fields. This is leadership," CM Yogi remarked.

He also underscored PM Modi’s commitment to constitutional governance, recalling how Dr. B.R. Ambedkar presented the draft Constitution on November 26, 1949.

"There was a time when there was a trend in the country that our demands should be fulfilled in the country, no matter what the compulsion is, all of them are fighting for existence. The Constitution gives us strength but also reminds us of our fundamental duty," he said.

Looking towards the future, CM Yogi reiterated PM Modi's vision for India to become a developed nation by 2047, as part of the five vows announced during the 75th Independence Day celebrations.

"PM has decided that in 2047, when the country will be celebrating 100 years of independence, India will be developed. PM had described it as five vows on 75th independence," he concluded.
