There are several dating trends and terms on the rise, and the recent one to garner the attention of people is 'fake-up.' This trend is all about people faking a breakup so that they can get sympathy from other potential daters or just have a conversation with the end goal of pursuing them.

According to a survey conducted by the dating website QuackQuack, fake-up is currently gaining significant popularity. Among the participants surveyed, it was found that GenZ daters, particularly single men, are more inclined to employ this trend.

The survey revealed that 18% of male daters residing in both metropolitan and smaller cities admitted to utilizing fake-up stories as a means to initiate communication with their crushes.

Interestingly, the number of women partaking in this trend is comparatively lower. However, the survey indicated that 23% of women aged 21 and above believe that men find it easier to leverage fake-ups due to the compassionate nature of women, ultimately using it as a means to slide into their DMs.
