In the world of dating and relationships, there's a new thing called "paperclipping." It's when your ex tries to talk to you again, even though it might seem like they're just saying something simple. But there's more to it than what meets the eye.

Well, this term is from Microsoft’s paperclip application that sometimes pops up on your screen without any reason. In dating, "paperclipping" means your ex is trying to connect with you again. They might send a short message or talk to you on social media, making it look like a casual thing. But there's usually a bigger motive behind it.

People who do this are generally egoistic and do this to manipulate their ex partners. They want to remind them that they can control the situation as well as the relationship whenever they want. This might make the other partner fall prey to confusion and over whelming feelings.

According to experts, if you get a message from your ex like this, take a moment to think about how you feel. If it makes you feel upset or confused, that's okay. You don't have to reply right away. It's a good idea to talk to them if you're comfortable, so you both understand what's going on.
