In tropical weather like at some regions of India, this flu can be caused due to various reasons like exposure to extreme heatwaves, unhealthy diet or dehydration.

    The demon named summer is here and with day to day rise in mercury level, people are falling prey to summer flu. In tropical weather like at some regions of India, this flu can be caused due to various reasons like exposure to extreme heatwaves, unhealthy diet or dehydration.

    Symptoms

    The most common symptoms of summer flu are fever, cough, headache, body aches, runny nose, sore throat, vomiting and diarrhoea. These symptoms are more common in children but can also be seen in some adults.

    Precautions

    Avoid eating out as much as possible and stay hydrated.

    Try not to step out during the day.

    Use umbrellas, caps and scarves to cover your head.

    Avoid eating or drinking cold food.

    See a health expert in case of extreme conditions.

    When to see a doctor

    According to experts, summer flu can be caused due to several infections and the symptoms are similar to common flu. It is advisable to see a doctor if conditions worsen. People with diabetes, heart and lung conditions, pregnant women, children and elderly should be extra cautious during this weather.
