Commonwealth Games 2022 Day 1 highlights: There are no medal matches on Day 1 of the 22nd edition of the Commonwealth Games 2022, but quite a few key contests. 14-year-old squash sensation Anahat Singh made a superb start of her CWG campaign as she won Round of 64 match, 3-0.
Earlier, Pugilist Shiva Thapa stormed into the next round after he defeated Pakistan's Suleman Baloch. While India's women's team shed the early advantage as they lost their opener by 3 wickets against Australia. India's Badminton contingent will also start their campaign on Day 1 of Birmingham 2022 when they play against arch-rivals Pakistan in the mixed events.
Meanwhile, Indian women's hockey team made easy work against Ghana in Pool A, winning the match 5-0.
India's women's table tennis side, led by Manika Batra, defeated South Africa and Fiji with an identical scorelines of 3-0.

Triathlon (Women's): India's Pragnya Mohan and Sanjana Joshi finished 26th and 28th respectively
