Asia Cup 2022: Pakistan's Mohammad Rizwan undergoes MRI scan after Super 4 clash Vs India

Having already lost a couple of players to injuries, Pakistan have another scare to contend with after wicket-keeper batter Mohd Rizwan was admitted to the hospital post their victory over arch-rivals India in the Asia Cup.

As per reports in the Pakistani media, Rizwan underwent a precautionary MRI scan in Dubai. He sustained an injury while landing awkwardly on his right leg during India's first innings.

However, despite the injury, the Pakistani opener came out to bat and scored a match-defining 51-ball 71 to help the Men In Green chase down the 182-run target in the last over.

Pakistan will play their next Super 4 match against Afghanistan on September 7 at the Dubai International Stadium.

This is not the first time Rizwan has been admitted to a hospital in the UAE. Even in the 2021 T20 World cup, Rizwan had to spend nights in a hospital before their semifinal clash against Australia. Though Babar Azam's side lost that particular encounter, the wicketkeeper batter had scored a 52-ball 67.
