AUS vs WI: Australia sweep West Indies Test series with 419-run win in second Test

Australia once again demonstrated their dominance at home as they completed a series sweep against the West Indies with a mammoth 419-run win in the day-night Test at the Adelaide Oval.

Chasing a big 497-run target, the Windies were bundled out for a mere 77 runs in the final innings, with pacers Mitchell Starc, Scott Boland and Michael Neser snaffling three wickets a piece.

West Indies resumed Day 4 at 38-4 with Devon Thomas and Jason Holder at the crease, still needing 459 runs to win with six wickets in hand and six sessions remaining.

But it was all over in the first session itself as the tourists lost six wickets for just 39 runs.
Earlier, riding on centuries from Marnus Labuschagne and Travis Head, Australia posted a mammoth 511-7 in the first innings while the West Indies managed only 214 runs in the first essay.

Deciding not to enforce the follow-on, the Aussies declared in the second innings at 199-6. And eventually, the men from the Caribbean failed to put up a fight against the Kangaroos.
