Reacting to the mayhem over the venue for the next year's Asia Cup 2022 the newly appointed BCCI chief Roger Binny clarified that the decision to travel to a particular country is not in BCCI's hand.

Speaking at an event organised by Karnataka State Cricket Association, Binny said, 'Travelling to Pakistan is not BCCI's call. We need the government's clearance to leave the country. Whether we leave the country or teams come into the country, we need clearance. Once we get clearance from the government then we go with it. We can't make decisions on our own. We have to rely on the government.'

World Cup winner Binny further informed that the Indian board has yet not approached the government on travelling to Pakistan next year.

After BCCI secretary Jay Shah who is also the president of the Asian Cricket Council announced to hold Asia Cup at a neutral venue, a disappointed PCB, the hosts of next year's Asia Cup, threatened over pulling out from the next year's World Cup which will be held in India.
