Ellyse Perry becomes first Australian woman to play 300 games, joins elite list | IND-W vs AUS-W

Ellyse Perry became the first Australian woman player to play 300 international games on Sunday.

In a historic moment, the 33-year-old took to the field against India in Mumbai, joining an elite list of just three other cricketers.

India's Mithali Raj remains the most capped player in women's cricket with 333 games followed by former English skipper Charlotte Edwards and New Zealand's Suzie Bates at 309.

Since her 2007 debut, Australia has played 353 games across formats and she has been a part of all but 53 of them.

And she's won't mind leaving Mithali Raj behind too.

Speaking to reporters in Mumbai, Perry said, 'I don't know what's in store ...but if it's meant to be down the track and I'm still around playing ...I'm really open to what happen.'

Perry also remains the youngest player ever to debut for Australia at 16 years and 261 days.

In her first game, she recalled there were just 30-odd people and remarked that women's cricket has come a long way since then.

She is considered one of the sport's all-time greats who started out as a pacer and went on to become one of the best all-rounders to grace cricket.

Across 300 games, Perry has scored 6,551 runs and scalped 323 wickets.
