England cricket team members visit Dalai Lama ahead of Dharamsala Test

In a memorable encounter on the eve of their final Test match against India, members of the England cricket squad had the privilege of meeting with the esteemed Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, at his residence in McLeodganj, Dharamshala. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) captured this special moment and shared a photograph of the team members with the globally revered Nobel Peace Prize laureate on their official 'X' handle, highlighting the unique honor bestowed upon the visiting players.

"An incredible honour to meet his holiness, the @DalaiLama. England players and management attended his residence in McLeod Ganj, Dharamshala," expressed the ECB, showcasing the team's profound experience. Among those who visited were Zak Crawley, Tom Hartley, Dan Lawrence, Ollie Pope, Gus Atkinson, and assistant coach Marcus Trescothick, marking a significant moment during their tour.

Despite facing challenges in the ongoing series, with England currently trailing 1-4 as they head into the Dharamsala clash, this meeting served as a poignant and uplifting experience for the squad. Under the leadership of Ben Stokes, the team has made a strategic alteration to their lineup for the upcoming match, with Mark Wood stepping in for Ollie Robinson as the sole change from the team that competed in the fourth Test in Ranchi.
