England name Playing XI, make 2 changes for 4th Test against India in Ranchi

England has announced their lineup for the upcoming fourth Test match against India, set to commence this Friday in Ranchi. Currently, Ben Stokes and his team find themselves in a challenging position, lagging behind the hosts with a scoreline of 1-2 and just two matches remaining in the series. The stakes are high as England seeks to level the series in this pivotal encounter.

In a strategic move to bolster their chances, the England squad has introduced two changes for this contest. Ollie Robinson and Shoaib Bashir have been called up to the Playing XI, replacing Rehan Ahmed and Mark Wood. While Bashir has played in the series before, this will be Robinson's first outing on the tour. This adjustment reflects England's tactical response to the current series dynamics and their commitment to reversing the tide in their favor.

The revised England Men's XI boasts a blend of experienced campaigners and promising talent, hoping to make a significant impact in Ranchi. The team is as follows:

1. Zak Crawley
2. Ben Duckett
3. Ollie Pope
4. Joe Root
5. Jonny Bairstow
6. Ben Stokes (C)
7. Ben Foakes
8. Tom Hartley
9. Ollie Robinson
10. James Anderson
11. Shoaib Bashir

Captain Ben Stokes has already expressed that the pitch in Ranchi is unlike anything he has seen before, highlighting that it looks dark and crumbly.

"It looked interesting, didn't it? I don't know. I can't say much. I don't know, I've never seen something like that before so I have no idea. I don't know what could happen," Stokes was quoted as saying by ESPNCricinfo.

"If you looked down one side of opposite ends it just looked different to what I am used to seeing, especially out in India. It looked green and grassy up in the changing rooms, but then you go out there, it looked different. Very dark and crumbly and quite a few cracks in it," Stokes added.
