IND vs AUS: KL Rahul's 'torrid run' continues for Team India

Indian opening batter KL Rahul is once again in the limelight after another low score in the Delhi Test. With 174 runs in his last 10 Test innings including only one half-century, KL Rahul has been backed despite his inconsistency.

In fact, his last Test century came in December 2021. Rahul's poor run of form has also been criticized by former Indian cricketer Venkatesh Prasad who feels that it is the rigidity of the management to persist with a player who just hasn’t looked the part.

The absence of Shubman Gill, who is in the best form of his career, has also not gone down too well with Indian cricket fans.

The Indian vice-captain scored 137 runs in 8 innings played in 2022 at a modest average of 17. Even in ODIs, Rahul averaged only 27 last year.

The second innings in Delhi is crucial for the 30-year-old. If there's another low score, the Indian management will probably have to take the hard call when the action shifts to the third Test in Indore.
