IND vs WI 2nd ODI: KL Rahul likely to play as Team India eyes series win vs West Indies

Indian cricket team would look to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series when Rohit Sharma-led side takes on West Indies in the second ODI at Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera, Ahmedabad on Wednesday.

After the debacle in South Africa, the return of regular captain Rohit Sharma has infused new energy in Team India with the Hitman hitting big runs at the top of the order in the 1st ODI.

However, going into the second ODI, Rohit has to go through a big selection dilemma given vice-captain KL Rahul and opener Mayank Agarwal joined the squad after missing the first ODI. Rahul is expected to return at the top which means Ishan Kishan could sit out. With youngsters Deepak Hooda and Suryakumar Yadav playing a match-winning knock in the previous match, the team management is expected not to do any chopping and changing in the middle order.

The bowling department looked settled under spearhead Mohammed Siraj who bowled with great line and length with the new ball, along with off-spinner Washington Sundar. Leg-spinner Yuvendra Chahal also showed glimpses of his past years and bowled brilliantly in tandem with Sundar as he took 4 wickets. Chahal and Sundar took 7 wickets between them in the first ODI and never allowed West Indies batters to shift gears.
