India vs England: Rohit Sharma's men aiming for series win despite star bowler Jasprit Bumrah's absence

India are on the verge of securing a 17th consecutive series victory at home, a testament to their dominance on home soil.

India vs England: Rohit Sharma's men aiming for series win despite star bowler Jasprit Bumrah's absence

As the fourth Test between India and England in Ranchi looms on the horizon the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, India's leading pace bowler, casts a shadow over the home team's otherwise confident setup. Despite this setback, India's adaptability and assertiveness position them favourably against England's 'Bazball' strategy, which appears to lack depth when faced with the series-defining challenges ahead.

Transitioning from the scorching heat of Rajkot to Ranchi's cooler climate might offer the English team a brief respite, yet they find themselves at a disadvantage, trailing 1-2 in the series against a resilient Indian side. India is on the verge of securing a 17th consecutive series victory at home, a testament to their dominance on home soil since a surprising defeat to Alastair Cook's England in 2012. The team has since notched up 38 wins out of 47 Tests, with minimal losses, showcasing their formidable presence at home.

Under Rohit Sharma's leadership, India has navigated the absence of key batters like Virat Kohli and KL Rahul, with young talents stepping up remarkably. The series has been a revelation of India's batting future, with Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sarfaraz Khan, and Shubman Gill making significant contributions and exemplifying the strength of India's cricketing pipeline.

Bumrah's absence, due to rest after participating extensively in the series thus far, leaves a void in India's bowling attack. His exceptional performance, particularly the reverse-swing masterclass in the Vizag Test, has been pivotal in India's campaign. With Mohammed Siraj as the lead experienced pacer, India faces a selection dilemma for the second pacer's role between Mukesh Kumar and newcomer Akash Deep.

The Ranchi pitch, known for its balanced nature, might incline India to stick with their preferred combination of two pacers and three spinners, despite England's speculation on a spin-heavy approach. England's strategy, heavily criticized following a significant defeat in Rajkot, remains under scrutiny as they seek to navigate the challenges posed by Indian conditions and a determined Indian side.

As both teams prepare for a crucial encounter, the series stands at a tipping point, with India aiming to extend their home series winning streak and England desperate to revive the 'Bazball' spirit that has seen them through various challenges. With the Ranchi Test poised to be a decisive battle, get ready for an enthralling chapter in the storied rivalry between these cricketing giants.
