      Kolkata Knight Riders release Shardul Thakur, Prithvi Shaw retained by Delhi Capitals: Report

      Two-time IPL champions Kolkata Knight Riders have decided to release Indian all-rounder Shardul Thakur after acquiring his services last season for a whopping Rs 10.75 Cr which was also the league's most expensive trade buy in history.

      Delhi Capitals have decided to retain opener Prithvi Shaw for next season.

      According to The Indian Express, Thakur who had a dismal 2023 season with KKR has been released after scoring a mere 113 runs in 11 innings and picking up just 7 scalps in the tournament.

      Prithvi Shaw on the other hand, has been retained by Delhi even after the Mumbai batter scored just 106 runs in 8 innings last season.

      Shaw is currently undergoing rehabilitaion for a knee injury he suffered during his stint at County club Northamptonshire.
