'Pushed myself to bowl': Hardik Pandya opens up about his difficulties during the World T20

Hardik Pandya whose performance has been under scrutiny for a long time now opened up about his difficulties during India's forgettable campaign at last year's World T20.

Speaking on Backstage with Boria, the all-rounder spoke about the pressure and revealed that he felt that everything was being thrown at him.

While India lacked bowling options during the World Cup campaign, the then skipper Virat Kohli tried to utilise Hardik Pandya, however, he was not of much help.

Moreover, one of the reasons for India's embarrassing 10 wicket defeat against Pakistan in the first game of the campaign was the lack of depth in the bowling department.

While the 28-year-old accepted he could not bowl well, Hardik said that he was selected in the Team as a batter.

Pandya said that although he was advised to not bowl, he pushed himself in the 2nd game for the team. 'I worked really hard to bowl in the first game, I wasn't supposed to go. I pushed for my team but eventually I was not able to', Pandya said, who has been out of action since the showpiece event.

However, BCCI Chief selector Chetan Sharma had said that Pandya was picked as an all-rounder and will bowl his quota of 4 overs regularly.
