Rashid Khan threatens to boycott BBL over Australia's refusal to play Afghanistan

Rashid Khan has threatened to pull out of the Big Bash League (BBL) as a protest to Australia's decision to not play against Afghanistan.

Cricket Australia decided to withdraw its men's team from a bilateral ODI series against Afghanistan in March because of the Taliban's stance banning university education for girls in the country.

Responding to that Rashid wrote that if playing vs Afghanistan is so uncomfortable for Australia, then he wouldn't want to make anyone uncomfortable with his presence in the BBL. 'Therefore, I will be strongly considering my future in that competition,' the leg spinner added.

Rashid played 8 matches for the Adelaide Strikers this season before leaving to play for MI Cape Town in the SA20.

Rashid's statement came after his Afghanistan teammate Naveen-ul-Haq had pulled out of the BBL saying 'time to say won’t be participating in big bash after this until they stop these childish decisions.'
