After whitewashing the Windies in Tests and convincingly winning the ODI series, Team India now shift focus to the shortest format as the 5-match T20 series vs West Indies begin from Thursday.

Beating the Windies in longer formats may be easy but coming up trumps against the hosts in a format which suit them the most won't be easy.

They also have reinforcements with Nicholas Pooran returning to the squad on back of devastating form. He is fresh from a match-winning 137 in Major League Cricket final.

However, India is still a force to reckon with and has lost just 1 of its last 4 T20Is in the Caribbean. Overall, the Windies have managed to beat India just 7 time in 25 games in the shortest format.

Moreover, the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba has hosted just 1 T20I in the past which was also between India and West Indies. The visitors thrashed the Windies in that game in July 2022.

Despite it being the ODI World Cup year, these 5 T20Is will be an added opportunity for the subcontinental giants to asses their power players.
