Chelsea vs Red Bull Salzburg

Chelsea beat Red Bull Salzburg 2-1 in the Champions League on Tuesday to advance to the last 16 of the Champions League as group winners with one game to spare.

Mateo Kovacic put Chelsea ahead in the 23rd minute before Junior Adamu equalised in soon in the second half. But Kai Havertz's 64th-minute strike ensured that Graham Potter's men advanced and ended Salzburg's 40-match unbeaten home record.

Manchester City vs Borussia Dortmund

The Blues joined Premier League rivals Manchester City in the knockouts as the Citizens advanced despite a goalless draw vs Borussia Dortmund.

City boss Pep Guardiola admitted that they have a "problem" with penalties after Riyad Mahrez missed a chance to score a winner from the spot. He has missed three of his last four penalties for Manchester City in all competitions. In fact, City have failed to score 25 of their 80 penalties, excluding shootouts, since the Catalan took over in 2016.

PSG beat Maccabi Haifa

Paris Saint Germain ran riot on Tuesday as they thrashed Maccabi Haifa 7-2 to reach the last 16 of the Champions League.

Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe scored a brace each as Messi's two goals mean he becomes the first player to score 80 goals in the group phase of the Champions League. and Neymar and Carlos Soler netted 1 each, while Shon Goldberg gifted PSG an own goal.

Benfica beat Juventus

However, Juventus failed to qualify for the knockout stage of the Champions League for the first time since 2013-14 as Benfica beat them 4-3 on Tuesday.

PSG top Group H with 11 points from five games, the same as Benfica, while Juventus has just 3 points from 5 games.

RB Leipzig beat Real Madrid

European champions Real Madrid suffered a first defeat of the season as RB Leipzig beat them 3-2 on Tuesday to strengthen their hopes of making the Champions League last 16.

Leipzig went 2-0 up within the first 18 minutes before Vinícius Júnior helped Real pull 1 back just before half time. Timo Werner once again restored a 2 goal advantage as a late penalty conversion by Rodrygo couldn't save Real, who have already advanced to the knockouts.
