Covid-19 hits Manchester United, Premier League match against Brentford postponed

Manchester United's match against Brentford has been the latest casualty to Covid-19 after Premier League postponed the game due to positive cases among the club's players and support staff.

In a statement, Premier League said that the decision was taken following the guidance of medical advisers due to the Covid-19 outbreak within Manchester United's squad. The statement added that the safety of everybody is a priority and the League is taking all precautionary steps in light of the recent rise in Covid-19 cases across the country.

Manchester United shut their first-team operations at the Carrington Training Complex which was closed for 24 hours in order to minimise the risk of further infections. Earlier, Tottenham's Premier League matches were postponed due to Covid-19 infections in their squad.
