Erling Haaland's stoppage-time penalty powers 10-man Manchester City to a 2-1 win over Fulham

Erling Haaland came to Manchester City's rescue once again as he converted a penalty in the final minute of stoppage time to earn his team a 2-1 victory over Fulham at the Etihad Stadium.


On a dramatic night, the Citizens started strongly with Julian Alvarez giving the hosts a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute.


But Fulham capitalised from an off-side ruling against Rodri and earned a penalty in the 28th minute.

City defender Joao Cancelo was given a straight red card for a foul to Harry Wilson and Andreas Pereira made no mistake from the spot as Fulham went into the half-time 1-1.

Despite being reduced to 10-men, the Citizens continued their aggressive play in the second half as well. Haaland, who missed the previous two games due to an injury, was introduced in the 63rd minute and straightaway the Norwegian made an impact.

He deflected a pin-point cross from Kevin de Bryune to the far post but the goal was ruled out by VAR.

Though Fulham defended brilliantly in the second half, de Bryune earned a penalty in the last minute of stoppage time. Haaland made no mistake and converted from the to earn a dramatic victory for City.


With the win, Pep Guardiola's men moved to the top spot on the Premier League points table while Fulham remained at 8th with 19 points.
