FIFA World Cup 2022: Neymar makes a goalscoring return as Brazil thrash South Korea 4-1 to enter quarters

Neymar made a goalscoring return after recovering from an ankle injury as Brazil humbled South Korea 4-1 in their FIFA World Cup round of 16 clash on Monday night to set up a quarter-final clash against Croatia.

Vinicius Junior set the tone for the things to come when he put Brazil ahead in just the 7th minute, Neymar then doubled the lead as he successfully converted from the spot for a foul on Richarlison. It was his 76th goal for Brazil, as he is now just 1 behind legendary Pele's all-time record.

Richarlison and Lucas Paqueta then netted a goal each to put Brazil 4 up well within the first half and sealed the game within 36 minutes.

South Korea however pulled one back in the 76th minute courtesy Paik Seung-ho's super 30-yard strike. But it was no more than a consolation goal.

While Tite's men paid tribute to an ailing Pele, who is receiving hospital treatment in Sao Paulo due to his health, loss for South Korea forced their manager Paulo Bento to step down.
