FIFA World Cup 2022: Who will win the Golden Boot?

FIFA World Cup 2022: Who will win the Golden Boot?

As the FIFA World Cup 2022 nears its end, the race for the World cup golden boot is still alive as Argentina's Lionel Messi is level on 5 goals with France's Kylian Mbappe. Olivier Giroud sits on a very close joint 2nd spot with 4 goals to his name and is tied with another Argentine by the name of Julian Alvarez who scored a brilliant brace against Croatia in the semi-finals to get his tally up to four in his first World Cup.

The final showdown between Argentina and France will see the Top 4 goal scorers of the tournament battle it out for not just the coveted title but also etch their name in World cup history as the highest goal scorer in the quadrennial tournament.

PSG teammates Mbappe and Messi have both been influential in their team's journey to the final and will turn into foes as soon as the referee blows the whistle on Sunday.

While Messi has scored 3 of his 5 goals from penalties, Mbappe has managed to get all of his 5 goals from open play for Les Bleus.

Argentina will again count on the explosive partnership of Messi and Alvarez which has steered the team into the final.

France's all-time top scorer Olivier Giroud can't be ignored as well with the impact he is having for the French side in the absence of Karim Benzema going into the final and the 36-year-old is well capable of springing a surprise on the Argentinian defence.

The Golden boot race is wide open at the moment and any of the four players can go away with the prize at the end.
