La Liga: Barcelona thrash Real Madrid 4-0 in 'El-Clasico'

It was a royal thrashing at Santiago Bernabeu as Real Madrid were outclassed 4-0 by a resurgent Barcelona in La Liga's El Clasico on Sunday night. The highly-anticipated clash lived up to the hype as the visiting Barcelona side led by Xavi was quick to get off the blocks and scored through Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The Arsenal discard score the opening goal for the Catalan giants in the 29th min of play.

Ronald Araujo doubled Barcelona's lead as the 3rd placed team in La Liga points table surged ahead and went to the halftime break with a 2 goal cushion. Barcelona was very much in the driving seat and never lost control of the match as Ferran Torres increased Real Madrid's misery with another strike making it 3-0 shortly after the break.

Aubameyang wasn't done yet as he returned once again in the 2nd half to haunt the hosts and scored his 2nd of the night to give Barcelona a commanding 4-0 win. The clinical win was the first for Barcelona against Real Madrid since 2019 as Xavi's re-born side showed glimpses of a possible renaissance under the former club legend.

Despite the loss, Real Madrid still has a 9 point advantage over 2nd placed Sevilla & 12 over 3rd placed Barcelona.
