Liverpool vs Manchester City

Arsenal hoped that title contenders Manchester City and Liverpool played out a draw and that's exactly what happened on Sunday night.

The Reds remained on the 2nd spot while the Citizens remained 3rd as they played out a 1-1 draw at the Anfield, leaving the Gunners at the top of the Premier League standings after 28 games each.

John Stones made no mistake in converting a Kevin de Bruyne assist to put City ahead in the 23rd minute.

Liverpool were back in the contest when Alexis Mac Allister scored from the spot soon after half time. He has now converted 9 of his 10 penalties in the Premier League, including each of his past 8.

The scoreline didn't change thereafter which means it's advantahe Aarsenal for the title.

Tottenham vs Aston Villa

In the other major match on the night, Tottenham thrashed Aston Villa 4-0 to keep their top 4 hopes alive.

After a goalless first half, James Maddison and Brennan Johnson put the Spurs ahead before Son Heung-min and Timo Werner scored a goal each in stoppage time.

Though Aston Villa remained 4th on the table, they are no just 2 points clear of Tottenham, who also have a game in hand.
