Real Madrid beat Liverpool 1-0 to lift 14th Champions League Cup

Spanish club Real Madrid won their record-extending 14th European title after defeating Liverpool 1-0 in the UEFA Champions League final at the Stade de France on Saturday.

Though the English Club dominated possessions early in the game, a single goal from Vinicius Junior was enough for Carlo Ancelloti's men to upset their opponents' bid to secure the cup for the 7th time. While the Brazilian footballer netted the goal in the 59th minute of the game, Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois kept Jurgen Klopp's men at bay throughout the game with multiple saves. The Belgian footballer who produced a goalkeeping masterclass in the final, saved at least 6 attempts on goal by Mohd Salah.

With the thrilling victory, Carlo Ancelloti, Real Madrid's manager made history as he became the first to win 4 champions league trophies with different teams (2003, 2007 with AC Milan & 2014 with Real Madrid).

Meanwhile, Liverpool's stellar campaign ended in a double disappointment as the team failed to win Premier League and the Champions League in the final week of the season. They, however won the FA Cup and the League Cup this season.
