Erling Haaland was at his destructive best as he scored 5 goals to help Manchester City thrash Luton Town 6-2 to reach the quarterfinals of the FA Cup on Tuesday.

The prolific 23-year-old needed just three minutes to get his first of the night under the lights at Kenilworth Road, and wrapped up his hat-trick inside 40 minutes.

Luton's Jordan Clark scored a sensational goal just before the break, and added another shortly after to give the hosts hope, but Rob Edwards' side could not deal with Man City's unstoppable duo of Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne.

De Bruyne made four assists on the night, while Bernardo Silva supplied Haaland for his fifth, before Mateo Kovacic finally completed the rout.

It is Haaland's 8th hat-trick for Manchester City, and the second time he has scored five goals in a single game for the club; the other came in a 7-0 thrashing against RB Leipzig en route to their UEFA Champions League triumph last season.

They will learn their FA Cup quarter-final opponents when the draw takes place on Wednesday.
