On a difficult pitch, where run-scoring seemed pretty hard, India managed 240 against Australia in the Cricket World Cup final. After the Aussies surprisingly put India in to bat, captain Rohit Sharma started in his usual fashion, taking the attack to the bowlers.

Even as Shubman Gill fell cheaply, Rohit's 31-ball 47 got India off to a flier. However, his wicket changed the game, with Shreyas Iyer also departing in quick succession.

Virat Kohli and KL Rahul then stabilised the innings with a 67-run partnership, Kohli's departure for 54 provided the Aussies with an opening.

While Rahul did manage to top-score for India with 66, India couldn't find the flourish in the death overs, losing wickets at regular intervals to settle for 240 in Ahmedabad.
