Jasprit Bumrah: Wasim Akram and Misbah-ul-Haq praise India's star bowler as best in the world

Former Pakistan cricket captains, Wasim Akram and Misbah-ul-Haq, showered accolades on India's fast bowler, Jasprit Bumrah, following his exceptional performance against England in Lucknow on Sunday. They both hailed Bumrah as the best bowler globally.

Wasim Akram, a cricket legend himself, lauded Bumrah's skills while speaking to Pakistani channel A-Sports, "He is the best in the world right now. Top of the ladder! The control, the pace, the variations, just a complete bowler. A treat to watch. With the new ball, to get this kind of movement on this kind of pitch … pace, carry, follow-through… you name it he’s a complete bowler."

He went on to dissect Bumrah's unique bowling angles, which confound batters. Wasim noted Bumrah's ability to deceive left-handed batters with crafty seam positioning. He also pointed out how Bumrah, when bowling wide of the crease, appears to deliver an inswinging ball but manages to move it away consistently, creating perplexity for the batsman.

"When I used to bowl outswingers like that to right-handed batters with the new ball, sometimes I couldn’t control the ball also. But Bumrah definitely has better control with the new ball than myself,” Wasim said with a smile.

Misbah-ul-Haq, another former Pakistan captain, concurred with Akram's sentiments, praising Bumrah's remarkable line and length that leaves batters with minimal chances. Both legendary cricketers underlined Bumrah's unparalleled mastery of his craft.

Wasim Akram also pointed out the significance of Pakistan's bowlers learning from Bumrah's experience in Test cricket. He explained that Bumrah's effectiveness stems from his consistent participation in Test matches, a format where Pakistani bowlers might benefit from more involvement.

The admiration for Bumrah's prowess from these seasoned cricketers transcends borders and exemplifies the recognition of exceptional talent in the sport. Jasprit Bumrah's impact as a bowler and his contribution to the Indian cricket team continue to receive admiration from cricketing greats around the world.

This praise serves as an acknowledgment of Bumrah's dedication and mastery as he cements his status as one of the premier fast bowlers in international cricket.

Bumrah is the second-highest wicket-taker of the tournament so far, having taken 14 wickets in 6 matches.
