The Afghans have done it again!

Yet another upset in the Cricket World Cup as Afghanistan beat rivals Pakistan by 8 wickets at Chepauk on October 23.

Pakistan hadn't lost a single game while defending a 275+ run target in WC history before this gameDeciding to bat first, Babar's men started steadily with opener Shafique giving Pakistan some sort of momentum.

Babar Azam topscored for his side with a resilient 75 on the day.

However, it was Shadab Khan (40) and Iftikhar Ahmed (40) who steered the team to a competitive total of 282 in the end.

In reply, it was the brave 130-run opening stand by Rahmanullah Gurbaz (65) and Ibrahim Zadran (87) which set the stage for the Afghans to record a first win against their rivals.

Despite both the openers sent back to the pavilion, Rahmat Shah (77*) and skipper Hashmatullah Shahidi (48*) who steered Afghanistan to a historic win, their first win against Pakistan after 7 defeats in as many games.
