Former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram has lauded Indian captain Rohit Sharma, comparing him favourably to top international batters like Virat Kohli, Joe Root, Kane Williamson, and Babar Azam.

Speaking on A Sports, Wasim Akram acknowledged the exemplary partnership between Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, where they scored 91 runs in just ten overs against the Netherlands. Akram expressed that this duo's stellar performance tilted the match in India's favor.

He commended Rohit Sharma, stating, "I don't think there is anyone like Rohit Sharma in the world of cricket. We talk about emperor Kohli (Virat), Joe Root, Williamson (Kane), Babar Azam, but this guy is different."

Akram further emphasized how Rohit Sharma exhibits an extraordinary level of consistency and composure in his batting, regardless of the game's situation or the bowling attack he faces.
