IND vs BAN: India bag consolation win, beat Bangladesh by massive 227-run margin

Team India managed to avoid a series whitewash against Bangladesh in some style as they thumped the Bangla Tigers by a massive 227-run margin in the final one-dayer.

The Men in Blue lost the 3-match series 2-1 after 2 disappointing results earlier in the series.

Put to bat first, Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan failed to make an impact yet again and got dismissed for just 3 runs in the 5th over.

What followed after India's first dismissal was an Ishan Kishan masterclass as the 24-year-old went on to score the fastest double century in ODI cricket - a blistering 131-ball 210. This was Ishan's maiden ton as well.

Virat Kohli supported him from the other end in a spectacular fashion, recording his 44th ODI hundred from 91 deliveries after being dropped on just 1 run earlier in the innings. Kohli has now surpassed Ricky Ponting in terms of the number of hundreds scored across all formats. The Indian stalwart now has 72 international centuries to his name.

The 290-run 2nd wicket partnership steered Team India to a gigantic 409-run total in the end.

Chasing which, no Bangladesh batter was really able to give the Bangla Tigers the momentum they needed to chase such a humongous target. Shakib Al Hasan top-scored for the team with 43 runs.

The Indian bowling lineup featuring Shardul Thakur and Axar Patel among others managed to restrict Bangladesh to just 182 runs in the end which saw the Men in Blue register their 3rd highest ODI win in terms of runs.
