Watch! IND vs PAK HIGHLIGHTS: Virat Kohli steals Pakistan's thunder, guides India to a thrilling win

On Sunday a storm hit Melbourne... The showers might have stayed away but it still rained sixes at the MCG and in the end when the dust settled, there was one man standing, King Kohli.

It was a game that did justice to the India-Pakistan rivalry as Virat Kohli stole Men in Green's thunder with a match-winning 53-ball-82 not out as India pulled off a thrilling 4-wicket win in its T20 World Cup 2022 opener.

Put into bat, Pakistan lost both its openers with just 15 runs on the board. However, a half-century each by Iftikhar Ahmed and Shan Masood helped their side finish at a defendable 159/8.

Chasing which, India found themselves wanting at 31/4. That's when Virat took matters into his own hands and turned the tide against Pakistan. First, he stitched a 113-run partnership with Hardik Pandya and then smashed Haris Rauf for 2 massive sixes, which made India believe that they can pull off a miracle.

And it did happen. India chased down 48 runs in the final 3 overs to win a last-ball thriller to avenge their defeat in last year's T20 World Cup. Hence, India opened their campaign with very special 2 points.
