Fireworks one after the other!

Team India produced one of their best batting performances till date to clinch their 7th bilateral T20I series victory this year.

The Men in Blue, having lost the toss, came out all guns blazing. Openers Rohit Sharma & KL Rahul put together a 96-run stand inside the first 10 overs.

While Rohit missed out on a fifty, Rahul finished with a 28-ball 57 that had South Africa on the mat. And then there was Suryakumar Yadav to pile more misery on the visitors. His blistering 61 off 22, where he played some outrageous strokes, took the wind out of the Proteas bowling attack.

With Virat Kohli too finding boundaries at the end, India were always going to post a massive total. And Kohli’s unbeaten 49, along with Dinesh Karthik’s perfect cameo took the hosts to 237, their 4th highest total in the shortest format.

In reply, Arshdeep once again proved to be the bane for South Africa’s top-order. He removed both captain Temba Bavuma & Rilee Rossouw for ducks in his very first over.

Even as Miller & de Kock took the Indian bowlers to the cleaners in the final 10 overs, the South Africans were always behind the asking rate.De Knock was slow off the blocks, but Miller played a blinder. Even though it came in a lost cause, the duo put together an unbeaten 174-run stand.

Miller even scored a sensational hundred - 106* off 47 deliveries, and along with de Kock’s 69* took the visitors close but they still were unable to surmount the humongous target, falling short by 16 runs.

The victory gave India an unassailable 2-0 lead, and their first-ever T20I series win against South Africa at home.
