Sri Lanka put up a dominating show in Pune as they beat India by 16 runs in the 2nd T20I to bounce back in the 3-match series, levelling it 1-1.

Hardik Pandya's decision to bowl first on a track which favours the side batting first left many experts baffled and it did backfire. Sri Lanka posted a mammoth 206/6, with Dasun Shanaka smashing the fastest T20I half-century for Sri Lanka off just 20 balls.

In reply, India's top order fell like a pack of cards as the Men in Blue found themselves wanting at 57/5.

That's when Suryakumar Yadav and Axar Patel counter attacked with a 91-run 6th wicket stand. While Surya smashed 51, Axar lit up the MCA stadium with a 31-ball-65.

But that too wasn't enough as the Men in Blue failed to chase down 21 in the last over. They managed 190/8 as it was India's first T20I defeat vs Sri Lanka in last 12 home games. Interestingly, that last loss in February 2016 also came in Pune.
