Lucknow Super Giants' pace phenomenon Mayank Yadav has taken the cricketing world by storm with his sheer pace and nearly error-free bowling.

With a record two POTM awards in his debut and the subsequent match, Yadav has been notching up records one after another.

But it was not all fun and games for the 21-year-old from Delhi.

In an exclusive conversation with Editorji's Vikram Chandra, Yadav shed light on the support he received from his franchise following an injury that sidelined him from the marquee T20 league in 2023.

'I received a lot of support from the franchise (Lucknow Super Giants). After the first season itself, Sanjiv (Goenka) sir gave a massive boost to my confidence when he praised my bowling.

He used to speak me a lot,' Mayank elaborated. He went on to add, 'I never felt like I had to ask for something from the franchise, as soon as I made a call, they would help me with anything I needed.'

The Delhi-native was drafted by LSG in 2022 and then he spent his maiden season on the sidelines, learning and absorbing invaluable insights from the team's coaching staff and seasoned players.

Come his IPL debut. It has been nothing short of a dream. In just two games, he has scalped six wickets at an economy rate 5.13.

Against RCB, Yadav registered his best IPL figures yet, 3-14 while also setting records with his seething bowling speeds.

On the list of the fastest deliveries in IPL history, Yadav is fourth following his 156.7 kph delivery against Bengaluru.

He also holds the feat for most 155 kph+ deliveries by a single bowler in the tournament's history.
