'A true visionary': Neeraj Chopra meets Ratan Tata, posts heartfelt message on Instagram

Neeraj Chopra, an Indian Olympian with a gold medal, recently thanked Mr. Ratan Tata for the chance to meet him and called him a “true visionary” and an inspiration. Chopra, who won the hearts of the country with his historic victory in Tokyo, expressed his feelings on social media and emphasised the significant influence of his meeting with the well-known industrialist.

"Grateful for the opportunity to meet Mr. Ratan Tata sir, a true visionary and source of inspiration," Neeraj posted on his Instagram.

For Chopra, the chance to interact with Mr. Tata was motivational, strengthening his will to succeed on and off the field.

Chopra made history in 2022 when, on June 30, at the Stockholm Diamond League in Sweden, he threw a massive 89.94 metres, breaking both the national record and his own personal best. This incredible accomplishment established him as a powerful force on the global scene by highlighting his abilities and providing insight into the direction of his developing career.

As Chopra entered 2023, a year that would see him solidify his place among the world's best javelin throwers, his momentum did not waver. At the Budapest World Athletics Championships, Chopra made history by becoming the first athlete from India to win a gold medal in the men's javelin throw final.

Chopra's career took a further turn for the better as he won another medal at the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China. Even though he had to make his first throw again due to a technical error, Chopra showed unmatched focus and fortitude. His final recorded jump of 88.88 metres won him the gold medal, breaking his record from Budapest.
