Amidst tension due to a missile attack just 10km from the race track, the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix weekend ended without an off-the-track incident as RedBull Racing's Max Verstappen took the chequered flag ahead of Ferrari's Charles Leclerc.

Verstappen who started from the 4th spot on the grid fought off a strong challenge from Leclerc as both drivers jostled to win the race till the very last straight on the final lap. Eventually, Verstappen edged past the racer from Ferrari to win by less than half a second.

Ferrari's Carlos Sainz completed the podium and stood third behind his teammate Charles Leclerc. Mercedes had a forgettable outing in Saudi Arabia as George Russell finished 5th and 7-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton a distant 10th.

Despite a 2nd place finish, Leclerc leads the Drivers' standings ahead of his teammate Carlos Sainz with defending champion Max Verstappen on the 3rd spot. The Formula 1 carnival now heads to Australia next with race on 10th April in Melbourne.
