'I'm not anti-vax but will sacrifice trophies if told to get jabbed': Djokovic breaks silence

20-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic broke his silence on the Covid-19 vaccination row which saw him being deported from Australia and denied taking part in the 1st Grand Slam of the year.

In an exclusive chat with BBC, Djokovic said that he was never against vaccination but he has always supported the freedom to choose what you put in your body. Sacrificing trophies in future tournaments is the price he is willing to pay if forced to get vaccinated.

Responding to the visa row in Australia, the Serbian said that he was really sad and disappointed with the way it all ended for him Down Under. Djokovic also claimed that he wasn't deported on the basis that he was not vaccinated. 'The actual reason was that the Minister for Immigration used his discretion to cancel my visa based on his perception that I might create some anti-vax sentiment in the country or in the city, which I completely disagree with,' added Djokovic.
