Neeraj Chopra’s javelin set to get ₹1 crore at e-auction, to fund efforts in cleaning Ganga

Neeraj Chopra's javelin, which he used during the men's singles final at the Tokyo Olympics, is all set to get sold in an e-auction at a whopping ₹1 crore or more.

The Valhalla 800 Hard NXS is preferred by many top javelin throwers and is priced at around ₹80,000. But since it's the same javelin which flew 87.58m from the hands of Neeraj Chopra to fetch India it's first Olympic gold in individual event since 2008, the spear is fetched that amount. Moreover, it has Neeraj Chopra’s autograph on it and after his win, the 23-year-old met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and gifted it to him.

In a heartfelt gesture, winners at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games and the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games from India, presented 15 items which were part of their sports kit to the prime minister. They will now fund the effort to clean the Ganga under the Namami Gange Mission.
